Application review process:
All submitted applications will be reviewed by a panel who will carefully evaluate applications using a scoring system, and will then make a decision on successful applications and consequent grant allocations.
Applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis, and applicants will be notified by email by Mid-October, Mid-February, Mid-April and Mid-July as to whether or not they have been selected for an award.
Funding information:
The grant amount allocated for national events will be a maximum of £1,000, while for international events, will be a maximum of £3,000. This funding is intended to reimburse expenses related to event registration, travel, accommodation and subsistence, as relevant. The support provided will include standard round-trip train tickets, economy round-trip airfare, and hotel rates in line with the examples in Section 9.1 of this guidance.
Following the event we will request the awardee to submit a grant claim form with relevant receipts. The default protocol is to award funds post-event upon presentation of receipts. However, should attending the conference or meeting become unfeasible under these circumstances, please contact us at this email address, and we will explore the possibility of exceptions.
Eligibility criteria:
The applicant must be either a junior doctor (including haematology and non-haematology trainees), or allied health professionals.
The applicant must be working in the United Kingdom.
Application to attend conferences, or educational meetings, courses or events featuring content related to haemostasis and thrombosis.
The applicant must be a HaemSTAR member, this can be achieved by joining HaemSTAR mailing list.
The applicant must confirm commitment to writing a blog for HaemSTAR, specifically focusing on one piece of scientific or clinical research in haemostasis and thrombosis presented at the event.

Given the high level of competition among applicants, the following will be regarded as priority criteria:
Applicants who will present either an oral or poster presentation at the event.
Applicants who demonstrate a commitment to representing HaemSTAR at the event.
Applicants who have not received ISTH legacy fund in the past.
Applicants who have made previous contributions to HaemSTAR.
Applicants who do not have access to alternative funding resources.
