Anticoagulation in Antiphospholipid Syndrome (A2PLS): A Multicentre Audit in the UK

A2PLS is a multicentre, retrospective audit of anticoagulation practice and outcomes in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) in the UK.

The primary objective is to audit anticoagulation practice in APS patients in accordance with the BSH guidelines. This audit is supported by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Following RCT data on the efficacy of DOACs, the MHRA and EMA have recommended against the use of DOACs in thrombotic APS, especially in those with triple positive disease. These recommendations are reflected in the updated BSH guidance. However, uncertainty remains with the appropriate anticoagulation strategy for non-triple positive thrombotic APS.

We would like approximately 10-15 minutes of your time per patient for data entry to a pre-designed electronic database which will include antibody specificity, thrombotic history and treatment history of your patients with APS.
